Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself considering it's been sweltering outside for months, but these past few days of temperate weather are telling me that fall is just around the corner, albeit, playing a nasty game of hide and seek. Despite the ominous "back to school" connotation, fall is my favorite season. To be honest, I don't completely mind going back to school (I'm sure I will retract this statement a month or so from now). I like to be kept busy and school does a fantastic job in that department. Anyway, back to the point of this post: my fall wish list, complete with gratuitous commentary!

I Fall to Pieces
1. Comme des Garçons wallet ($97) - I've gone through several wallets in the past few years, each one unsuccessful in functionality. I fell in love with this Comme des Garçons one a while back. Perfect for the essentials (ie. ID, cash, library card, etc.) and compact enough to be easily tossed between purses and bags.
2. Topshop Manney Suede-Slipper ($56) - I am so into these. LOOK HOW SEXY THEY ARE. Picture it: Sicily, 1922...just kidding (if you didn't catch that reference, please reevaluate your life and taste in 80s sitcoms). But really, think black skinny jeans (rolled to the ankle, of course), a silky blouse, vintage scarf, and a leather jacket to fend off the chill.
3. Comme des Garçons Play Border Tee ($135) - Stripes. Need I say more? If you know me at all (or have seen me on any given day of the week), you know that I wear a lot of stripes. Like, a lot. I currently own around 25 striped articles of clothing; that number has probably grown since I last counted. Hey, don't give me that look...I don't like your tone. This top needs to make its way into my closet. NOW. I'm usually not one for whimsy, but I can't help but love the Play heart emblem.
4. Apple iPhone (from $199) - Duh. The only reason I hate my perfectly useable phone is because it's not an iPhone. Come school season, it would be great to be able to sync my calendars with such ease. Syncing my iCal to my android is a royal pain and has never worked properly. Juggling school, work, and somehow maintaining a social life, all the while dealing with a daily two hour commute, having my schedule readily available would be a godsend. A GODSEND, I TELL YOU.
5. Fjällräven classic Kanken backpack ($65) - I'm not a backpack person. You'd never know this because I've probably owned 20+ backpacks in my scholastic career thus far (thanks, mom...and uh, sorry...). In my college years, I've used various tote bags advertising various bands and one boring black American Apparel backpack. Perhaps something a bit more aesthetically pleasing would make me a backpack person. Perhaps not. In any case, with a commute like mine, I'll likely be spending a night or two at friends' places in town as opposed to driving an hour home; it would be handy to keep in my car with a change of clothes and necessities for those nights.
6. No. 6 Classic Biker Buckle Boot ($345) - Welp, a girl can dream, right? With that price tag, I think dreaming is my only option for the time being. Dreaming and ogling pictures of Michelle Williams wearing these beloved boots.
And here's a little ditty by my girl Patsy for the road.

All in the Family
I just came across these photos sitting on our coffee table. I'm crazy about 'em.
My grandfather (1st on the right) on the beach in Hawaii, 1943. Check out those swimsuits! Ah, I love.
My grandfather again (1st on the left), when stationed in Hawaii with "a few of the girls from the office." The outfits! And the saddle shoes!
For some color, here's my babe of a mother in 1974. Look at those eyes! Nothin' like a halter and some high-waisted denims.
